Groove Yourself is a concept perfect for relaxed, creative bass guitar practice. It's simple - every track takes a chord progression, with various keyboard, synth and guitar sounds, drums and percussion and works it through every key using the Cycle of 5ths, usually starting with C Major or A Minor, moving to G Major or E Minor and so on, with usually 16 bars for each key. Try out bass lines, fills, riffs or solo and jam. To hold down a bass gig in a working band properly, you really need to be able to shift keys with ease, for example if a new song is not quite in the lead singer’s range. Practice with these tracks and you’ll find it coming to you much more naturally, without over-thinking things. I developed these tracks for my own use and am delighted to be able to offer them to fellow low enders!
